Hemas Hospitals – Thalawathugoda invites journalists for visit

Simultaneous to its first year anniversary celebrations, Hemas Hospitals – Thalawathugoda recently hosted journalists for a media visit to the hospital to give them an opportunity to obtain first-hand experience about the progress made by the hospital during its first year in operation. An hour long tour around the hospital gave journalists a rear opportunity to visit different units within the hospital to see its facilities and the modern equipment with state-of-the-art technology the hospital uses to treat patients. Hemas Hospitals Managing Director Panjan Navaratnam, Hemas Hospitals Group Medical Director Dr. Panna Gooneratne and Hemas Hospitals – Thalawathugoda General Manager Dr. Chamila Ariyananda were present on the occasion to welcome the journalists. They also briefed the journalists about the progress of the hospital and shared information about its future plans as well. Hemas Hospitals – Thalawathugoda is a 60 bedded multispecialty healthcare facility that started its operations in June, 2013 and is the third and latest addition to the Hemas Hospitals chain. The flagship hospital of Hemas Hospital chain is located in Wattala and the second in the heart of the Galle city. The satellite laboratory network of Hemas Hospitals, which took off ground four years ago in 2010 with the launch of its first in Ragama also has achieved a remarkable milestone by expanding its network to 14 branches with the opening of Kurunegala laboratory recently. Hemas Hospitals is the first internationally accredited hospital chain in Sri Lanka and is a subsidiary of Hemas Holdings, one of Sri Lanka’s leading conglomerates with a focus on five key sectors – FMCG, healthcare, transportation, leisure and power generation.
