The package offers a fixed charge for childbirth, be it a caesarean or normal delivery for which the hospital charges are all bundled in one cost and which is made known to the patient at the outset. In addition, the ‘Mathru’ package offers a discount on vaccinations and medical investigations on the child for 10 years plus a host of other benefits like ante-natal classes for the mother among others. “The birth of our hospital’s first baby is very exciting for us,” said an upbeat Dr. Ariyananda. “Hemas Hospitals has outstanding maternity facilities, done in consultation with clinical experts and we are overwhelmed with the response we have had so far.” The maternity facilities at Hemas Hospital, Thalawathugoda span two well-equipped operating theatres, two private labour suites that are totally independent of each other in equipment and facilities and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
