In case of accidents, private doctors (including private hospitals) refuse to give immediate treatment and demand that victims be taken to Government hospitals. The argument is that they may face Police inquiries, etc. This is also true. Is there any remedy for this?
The Indian Supreme Courts has given the following rulings:
a) Doctors should write their prescriptions legibly
b) In case of a sexual abuse being reported, immediate treatment should be given free of charge even by private doctors and hospitals.
c) When a man has sex with a minor girl with her consent (provided she has attained age), it should not be considered as rape though it is a punishable offence under different Section.
d) Marriage of minor girl (under 18) could be allowed if she is a Muslim.
A Girl even at the age of 16 may marry according to Islamic rights, provided she has attained age.
e) Homo sex is still a punishable offence.
