The National Insurance Trust Fund (NITF) which provides insurance coverage for over 1.2 million government beneficiaries took a step forward in expanding their services by joining hands with Lanka Hospitals to cover private hospital costs for Agrahara medical insurance beneficiaries. A partnership which has been carried out for the past three years between the two parties was recently extended for the fourth consecutive year to provide Agrahara medical insurance beneficiaries easier access to medical facilities in private hospitals. Commenting on the extension of the partnership, Chief Executive Officer of Lanka Hospitals Lakith Peiris said: “It is an honour to extend our partnership with the National Insurance Trust Fund. Through this partnership, Agrahara medical insurance beneficiaries can enjoy Lanka Hospital facilities with the lowest room rates with an additional discount of 10%, inpatient laboratory investigations at a special 10% discount, a 15% special discount for outpatient laboratory services and a 5% discount for radiology investigations. “In addition, a dedicated counter for Agrahara medical insurance beneficiaries within the Lanka Hospitals premises will assist beneficiaries with all their medical and insurance needs bringing further convenience and peace of mind. National Insurance Trust Fund has facilitated electronic card system which contains all personal details of the beneficiaries. The electronic card entitles Agrahara medical insurance beneficiaries the opportunity to make payments at the Lanka Hospitals counters as and when treatment is obtained, as opposed to pocketing out the cash and having it reimbursed later.”
