Making the wishes of the hearing-impaired come true at WISH

The Wickramarachchi Institute of Speech and Hearing (WISH) together with the College of ENT Surgeons in Sri Lanka recently held a seminar under the theme ‘Audiology Today’ at their state-of-the-art centre in Delkanda. The seminar was well attended and focused on the latest technological advancements in Neurotology and Audiology.

Speaking on the occasion J.M. Wickramarachchi and Company CEO Mihira Wickramarachchi, said, “Our aim through this centre is to help those who are hearing-impaired to speak and hear better as well as conduct education, research, and auditory assessment with regards to speech and hearing. The centre is mainly geared towards children who are hearing-impaired and need help in being able to learn normally.”

He added that the centre is fully equipped to be the only such facility in the world that has research and development, assessment and diagnosis, manufacturing and after-care of all audiology related needs.

Preceding the seminar the WISH Centre’s fully-equipped Hearing Aid Repair and Ear Mould Lab was also declared open.

The WISH Centre provides services such as full hearing assessment, hearing aid dispensing and programming, repair and servicing of hearing aids, ear mould making, complete balance assessment, tinnitus evaluation and rehabilitation, cochlear implants, auditory verbal therapy, and speech and language evaluation and therapy.
