Mega Lifesciences introduces Pynocare to SL market

Delivering an effective oral solution for unsightly pigmentations, Mega Lifesciences recently introduced the first oral de-pigmentation solution Pynocare to Sri Lanka, a pill that will keep pigmentation away. The launch event was held at the Blue Elephant, Hilton Colombo.

Speaking at the launch, Mega Lifesciences Country Manager Praveen Viswakumaran said: “Sri Lanka is a country with a tropical and intense climate, which is why 40% of the country’s women and 10% men seek solutions for pigmentations. This is the only oral solution that treats dark spots, pigmentations and uneven skin tones effectively, and has been successfully marketed in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia.”

Praveen added: “Illnesses need appropriate remedies. You cannot fight diabetes or gastritis with an ointment or any external remedy; you need to treat them internally. Likewise, pigmentations should be cured by its roots, which is what Pynocare does.” According to him, the product takes eight to 12 weeks to start reactions, as the remedies travel through the blood cells to treat the roots.

Having commenced operations in 1999, Mega Lifesciences, which positions itself as a ‘thinking organisation,’ is currently equipped with a workforce of 2,500 nutritionists and scientists around the globe.

Consultant Dermatologist Dr. Nayana Perera, explaining what melasma is about, said: “The major cause of pigmentations is exposure to the sun. Other contributory factors such as hormonal changes and endocrine disorders are further aggravated by the sun exposure. According to the WHO INTERSUN program, UV radiation levels in Sri Lanka range from eight to 12, which is extremely high, exacerbating the condition for the Sri Lanka women.”

Pynocare has been evaluated by a double-blinded cross-over control study performed at Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) and Spin Control Institute in France, world class laboratories, which clinically proved that the product provides effective treatment, leading to significant results.

Mega Lifesciences Brand Manager Ruchira Welpitiya explained that the product is priced at Rs. 1,950 and the pack consists of 20 capsules, to be taken twice a day continuously for eight to 12 weeks. “Scientists have proven that within the first eight weeks, one will experience 76% visible results,” she added.

Laboratory results have shown there are no side effects, since the product consists of natural ingredients. Pynocare soft gel capsules consist of pine bark and seaweed extracts, and form a cocktail of powerful antioxidants with strong anti-inflammatory properties 50 times more potent than vitamins C and E.

Actisome delivery technology, which ensures increased absorption of the active ingredients, fights damaging free radicals which trigger pigmentations, while also repairing and strengthening the skin, in turn delaying the natural ageing process. Speaking at the occasion Yoland Collection Chairperson/Designer Yolanda Aluvihare said: “Even though I am a designer, I always look forward in having even skin tone, which is why I use natural products and balance my diet.”
