Nawaloka Hospitals was recognised by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) of Sri Lanka for Excellence in Integrated Reporting at their inaugural awards ceremony held recently at Hotel Cinnamon Lakeside. Nawaloka Hospitals was the only entity from the healthcare sector to be recognised at the event. The award was presented by His Excellency President Maithripala Sirisena, who was the chief guest.
“We are honored to be recognized alongside some of the most respected companies in Sri Lanka for the quality of our corporate reporting”, said the Chairman Jayantha Dharmadasa. “And it is high quality attention to detail that we view as a vital tool to ensure that our investors and stakeholders are able to make informed decisions.”
Integrated reports are used to convey a clear and concise story to stakeholders on how all the resources of the business are being used to create value and drive profits. It further allows businesses to build stakeholder confidence by communicating a clear and detailed strategy to improve performance in the short, medium and long term while managing risk.
Having received many awards over the years, Nawaloka Hospitals has the distinction of being the hospital in Sri Lanka to have received the most number of awards in various categories. Amongst these awards was the Gold Award in the Healthcare sector at the ICASL Annual Reports Awards 2014, the fourth consecutive year they had won it. Nawaloka was also the only hospital to be recognised at the ACCA Sustainability Reporting Awards 2014.
