Premium donates multi procedure  aphaeresis machine worth Rs. 7 m

              Premium International, a leading innovative and integrated healthcare solutions provider, donated a Rs. 7 million worth latest and fully-automatedFresenius brandmulti procedure aphaeresis machine to the only tertiary care children's hospital inSri Lanka, The Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, through the National Blood Transfusion Services of Sri Lanka (NBTS) on 18March. This donation wasearmarked based on the high demand of the Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) in the country andLady Ridgewaybeing the only hospital dedicated forchildren.The newly-introduced cutting-edge German technology will improve the TPE process in Sri Lanka which waspreviously conducted manually and took a minimum of at least 24 hours to complete the procedure of a single patient. Fresenius COM.TECisthe only machine compatible for paediatric patients in Sri Lanka and will take only 45-90 minutesof the procedural time. The machine hasa 100% accuracy rate built in and is considered wholly safe for the patient.Fresenius Kabi is one of the global leaders in health care industrywhich specialises in lifesaving medicines and technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition for critically and chronically ill patients.                                                       At the ceremonial handing overand donation of the machine held at Lady Ridgeway Hospital Blood Bank, Premium International MD/CEO Prasantha Kularatnaaddressed the gathering and explained the corporate philosophyof Premium. Lady Ridgeway Hospital Director Dr. W.K. Wickramasinghe and National Blood Transfusion ServicesColombo Director Dr. Anil Dissanayake highlighted the uniqueness of the COM.TEC machine and appreciated this donation. Senior authorities of NBTS and consultants, Directors and staff of Premium International participated at this function.
