Private Hospitals Association elects office bearers for 2013

The 15th Annual General Meeting of the Private Hospitals Association was held recently at the auditorium of the Organisation of Professional Associations (OPA), Colombo. The following office bearers were elected for the ensuring year 2012/2013:

  • Murtaza Esufally of Hemas Hospital
  • Vice President – Ananda Kuruppuarachchi of Pannipitiya Nursing Home
  • President – Prof. Lal Chandrasena of Mawaloka Hospitals PLC
  • Indrani Fernando of Philip Hospitals, Kalutara
  • Sarath Jayasinghe of Kandy Private Hospital

Wijaya Ransi of Western Infirmary Hospital of Colombo 8 was elected as the Secretary, and Dinesh Jayaweera of Royal Hospital and Nishantha Jayamanna were elected as Assistant Secretaries. K.S. Surendran of Ratnams Private Hospital was elected as the Treasurer and Samantha Perera of Asiri Hospital as the Assistant Treasurer.

This will also constitute of the governing body of the Association. The outgoing President T.J. Emmanuel of Joseph Frazer Hospital handed over the reins of office to Prof. Chandrasena in the presence of past President Prof. W.A Ferdinand of Manthri Nursing Home, Negombo in the presence of the membership who were present at the OPA Auditorium, Colombo 7.

APH consists of 194 member hospitals and nursing homes throughout the country. The Vice Presidents represent small, medium and large scale hospitals.
