Dr. Gomathy Narasimhan, Senior Consultant, Transplant Surgeon (Hepato Pancreato Billiary and Liver Transplant), Global Health City, participated in the reunion of  Sri Lankan patients who underwent  liver transplantations at Global Health City, Chennai over the last four years. “The reunion stands as a testimony to the fact, that organ transplantation is a safe solution to address liver failure. Global Health City has to date performed Liver transplantations on over 20 patients from Sri Lanka, apart from many complex Liver and Pancreatic surgeries,” said Chairman and CEO Forte International M.F.A. Riyas, sole representative for Global Hospitals in Sri Lanka. The organ transplant program of Global Health City is amongst the largest in South East Asia and caters to almost 20 countries in SAARC, Middle East and African nations. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Narasimhan said: “It is wonderful to be able to see patients transplanted from a few years ago to few months ago, both adults and children return to normalcy and enjoying a good quality of life. Children are back at school and adult patients are back to full productivity and taking care of their families. Definitely, they seem a lot more cheerful when seen with their falimies in their home country as opposed to seeing them as a patient in the hospital.” “This is like a dream come true to see so many happy families getting back on track. This was our mission when we joined hands with Global Hospitals and our local doctors together, in order to provide the  best of medical care to my Sri Lankan brothers and sisters,” said Riyas. Global Health City, Chennai is a 500 bed, super specialty tertiary care facility, with a capacity to expand to 1,000 beds.
