Heart to Heart Trust Fund was co-founded by the two dedicated doctors, Dr. Rajitha de Silva and his guru Dr. Ruwan Ekanayake, to help the poor and underprivileged who cannot afford to meet the heavy financial costs to have free heart surgeries, fully paid by the fund. Monies donated by well wishers, entrepreneurs and public to this Fund are utilised for this purpose to do free surgery. Another significant feature at the SJGH is the – Keyhole coronary bypass surgery performed for the first time in January this year, by Dr. Rajitha de Silva, creating a trailblazer in government-sector hospitals.
