Special package from Ceylinco Diabetes Centre to mark World Diabetes Month

A new package offering a complete physical examination and selected tests for diabetes has been launched by the Ceylinco Diabetes Centre and will be available throughout November, to mark World Diabetes Month.

This special package includes a vision check, computation of Body Mass Index (BMI), Fasting Blood Sugar test (FBS), HbA1C test, lipid profile, SGPT (Liver enzyme test), Serum Creatine test, ECG, Fundus Photograph (photograph of retina) and a consultation with an eye specialist.

Visitors who obtain this package will also receive a free foot care examination and a snack from the Centre.

Each individual will be given a detailed report based on the doctor’s assessment and the results of the tests. If the evaluation of the results shows any abnormal conditions which require follow up, the patients could make an appointment for a second consultation with a doctor.

The package is competitively priced and appointments can be obtained by calling the Centre on 2490290, the Centre said.

The Senior Medical Officer at the Ceylinco Diabetes Centre Dr. Charuky Weerasuriya said: “Our Centre makes an effort to create better awareness on Diabetes prevention because it is a fast growing health problem. Diabetes cannot be cured, but good management can minimize complications.”

All tests, consultations and treatment at the Ceylinco Diabetes Centre located at Park Street Colombo 2 take place in a comfortable non-hospital atmosphere.

As a highly specialised outpatient clinic for screening, detection and management of diabetes and its complications, the Centre conducts clinics in Diabetology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Vascular and General Surgery, Diet and Nutrition. In addition there is an in-house Medical Laboratory and Diabetes shop which provides diabetic medications and other diabetes related products.
