The power of the needle

I was suffering from stiffness in my left arm which curtailed its movement for a couple of months and as usual thought it to be a muscle inflammation due to extreme strain or excursion and expected it to recover and heal itself over time. I used to continue with the day to day routine chores but it resulted in an unbearable shooting pain that used to travel through and I thus decided to consult my Kancho and teacher of martial arts, Dr. V. Thanarajah a veteran in not only medicine but sporting medicine and allied therapy. 

Post of the initial discussion Dr. Thanarajah highlighted possible causes and inquired on my habitual practices et al given that I did not frequent the Dojo for some time now, and thereafter consoled my mind by requesting me to attend his clinic, saying that it was most probably a frozen shoulder and it was only my ‘presence’ that was required. 

Although I was one scared of incisions I did attend and over a calm conversation had the medical procedure administered even without my knowledge for that matter. After attending two clinics, I felt the pain disappear and ability to move the arm which was very limited and restricted in nature. By now the pain was a bygone and over a few more clinical sessions much improvement was witnessed also bearing in mind the wise doctors request to exercise it to improve its agility and regain its past composure, which I admit tends to get neglected at times.
