21st Convocation of University of Ruhuna from 9-11 May

The 21st Annual General Convocation of the University of Ruhuna will take place at the University gymnasium at Wellamadama Matara on 9, 10 and 11 May.
A total of 1891 internal and 362 external graduates will be awarded their degrees by the Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, Aggamaha Panditha, Rajakeeya Panditha, Grantha Visharada, Saddharma Kirthi Shri, most venerable Pallattara Sumanajothi Maha Nayaka Thero. Of the total 2,253 degrees being awarded, 137 are post-graduate degrees, 1,753 are first-class degrees and one is an honorary degree.
There will be three keynote addresses, of which the first will be delivered by eminent judge Christopher Gregory Weeramantry, who served at the International Court of Justice from 1991 to 2000. He served as its Vice President from 1997 to 2000 and is currently an Emeritus Professor of the University of Monash.
Professor H.P.M. Gunerathne will deliver the key note address at the afternoon session on 9 May and Professor Madduma Bandara on the morning of 10 May.
