25 students from Mullaitivu win JASTECA Ogawa scholarships

The 13th scholarship awards ceremony of the Ogawa scholarships under the Japan-Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) was held recently at the Vidyananda School in Mullaitivu.

The JASTECA Executive Committee, the District Education Director and District Education officers participated at the scholarship award ceremony, which presented 25 students with Ogawa scholarships.In 1999 Kioko Ogawa of JASTECA launched a scholarship fund for underprivileged students to pursue higher education. Students who were successful at the GCE Advanced Levels were selected and given financial and material assistance.
