361 Degrees partners IPM for National HR Conference 2016

361 Degrees, Sri Lanka’s leading integrated HR solutions partner, has partnered the Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka (IPM) for the upcoming National HR Conference 2016 to be held on 21 and 22 June at the BMICH in Colombo.

361 Degrees will be the “Official Training and Engagement Partner” partner for IPM, having participated in almost every HR Conference since the very first event held back in 2002.  Additionally, 361 Degrees will be the Strategic Partner with IPM for the next two years.

361 Degrees Chairman and CEO Rukmal de Silva will be one of the panellists who is due to engage with the audience during the panel discussion to be held on Day 2 of the conference. De Silva holds a Masters in Business Psychology at the Heriott Watts University in UK and is currently reading for a PhD with a research interest in the effect of psychological biases in teams. He is also a Certified National Trainer of Junior Chamber International Training Institute, USA.

Since its inception back in 2001, 361 Degrees – formerly known as Wild Drift – has successfully carried out training programmes for over 220 entities in both Sri Lanka and overseas, conducting a total of over 1,600 training programmes in the process. The company continues to provide innovatively practical and tailor-made learning solutions for a wide variety of clientele through upskilling, engaging and aligning people at work.

361 Degrees’ HR solutions broadly include Team Building, Engagement and Training Programs. 

Team Building focuses on enhancing teamwork within a group of individuals such as a department of a company while Engagement takes place through a variety of activities such as sports days, family days, fun/discovery amazing chases, ice breakers, celebration programmes, quizzes, award/recognition ceremonies, conferences, product launches, theme nights and motivational speeches. Training Programs include anything from leadership to induction programs. 

The company recently launched its breakthrough approach to training – the ‘Thank God It’s Monday’ approach – which focuses on enabling people to ‘Be Better, Be Happier’ at the workplace. This methodology was a culmination of 15 years of intensive research and experimentation as Sri Lanka’s leading HR solutions partner.

The IPM National HR Conference is an annual event which is widely known to be the most inclusive learning forum for the HR community in Sri Lanka. It attracts over 1,000 delegates from across a large cross-section of organisations including public and private sector companies, universities, government departments and NGOs from Sri Lanka as well as the South Asian region. This year’s conference focuses on delivering knowledge in five areas vital to build competitiveness of firms – Competitiveness, Creativity and Innovation, People and Technology, Ethical Leadership, and Public sector HR.
