Key annual event to focus on ‘Aligning with Development – Reaching New Vistas’
For the ninth consecutive year, the Association of Corporate Lawyers Sri Lanka (ACL) has organised its annual Corporate Law Conference which will be held on Friday, 10 October 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kings Court, Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel, Colombo-2.
The Chief Guest will be the Acting Chief Justice Saleem Marsoof, P.C., Judge of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka while the Guests of Honour would be Rauf Hakeem, Minister of Justice and Palitha Fernando, P.C., Attorney General.
The conference topics will be on Insurance Law, Customs Law, Tax Law, Banking and Finance Law. The Speakers are A.H.M.D. Nawaz, Judge of the Court of Appeal on ‘Some of the Salient Developments in the Banking and Finance Law’, K. Kanag-Isvaran, P.C. on ‘Review of Legal Issues: Post Amalgamation’, Deepthi Lokuarachchi, CEO, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd. on ‘Supporting E-Commerce and Trade by Modern Insurance Platforms’, Chandaka Jayasundere, Attorney-at-Law on ‘Emerging Trends in Insurance Legislation – Catching up with Sri Lanka’s Economic Development’, M.R. Rajmohan, Deputy Director of Customs, Sri Lanka Customs on ‘Customs Classification and Taxation’ and Suresh Perera, Principal – Tax & Regulatory, KPMG Sri Lanka on ‘The Sri Lankan Tax System – A Critical Evaluation’.
