BizEx Consulting is set to conduct a seminar/workshop on “How to Measure and Boost Productivity” for manufacturing, construction, workshops and similar workplaces. The workshop will be a full-day program on Thursday, 12 December, at the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM).
The contents will include methods of measuring labour and material and energy productivity and will teach many techniques for improving labour productivity.
Participants will learn how to prioritise their productivity efforts and use industrial engineering techniques to improve methods, layouts, workplace design, ergonomics, process charting, work measurement, setting time standards, etc. and reduce the Seven Wastes (of Toyota) to improve productivity.
The seminar will be useful for any level of management who wishes to improve the productivity of their enterprises.
The Resource Person will be Sunil G. Wijesinha, who has the theoretical knowledge of a mix of Western techniques blended with Japanese techniques. He has worked as an industrial engineer for a large manufacturing organisation and has conducted training and consultancy for productivity improvement. Therefore, he has practised what he teaches. A specialist in Japanese Style Management Techniques, he was honoured by the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) for promoting productivity in the Asia Pacific region. Last year, he was honoured by the Japanese Government with the conferment of the “Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays” for his contribution to promoting Japanese Management Techniques in Sri Lanka.
