CFA Society Sri Lanka welcomes first CEO

CFA Society Sri Lanka, the local member society of CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals that sets the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence, appointed Roshanara De Croos as the society’s first Chief Executive Officer. She assumed duties in January. This appointment is in line with the growing active CFA charterholders community in Sri Lanka as well as the move towards a more independent governance structure ‘Society 2.0’ put in place by CFA Institute.

 Roshanara comes with extensive experience in the commercial and non-profit sectors, both in Sri Lanka and overseas. She has been working as a Management Consultant from 2011 until now and was a member of the Expert Panel attached to the Ministry of Public Enterprise Development from May 2017 to October 2018, which was set up to restructure the State Owned Enterprises (SOEs). 

Prior to 2011, Roshanara worked in various capacities at senior management levels in some of the top corporates in Sri Lanka such as, John Keells Group, Maharaja Group, Hayleys Group, and two international non-profit organisations in Thailand.

Roshanara is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), Member of Chartered Global Management Accountants, and holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka.

As the CEO, she will be responsible for the management and operations of all activities of the CFA Society Sri Lanka, including the implementation of its strategic plan, supporting governance initiatives, managing relationships with key stakeholders that include members, volunteers, regulators, employers and sponsors, etc. Roshanara will also take the lead in working with the CFA institute to plan and implements its new engagement model with local societies (Societies 2.0).
