CIPM Sri Lanka - the nation's leader in human resource management, will conduct the Grand Finale of the Great HR Debate 2024, the flagship corporate debating challenge alongside the proceedings of the National HR Conference to be held on 5 and 6 June at the Monarch Imperial. Texlan Centre Ltd., Nestle’ Lanka Ltd., IFS R & D International Ltd., A. Baur & Co. Ltd., H Connect International Ltd., McLarens Group, Maliban Biscuit Manufactories Ltd., Aitken Spence PLC, and Jay Jay Mills Lanka Ltd. are the companies who have nominated their teams to participate in the debating championship.
“The Great HR Debate has helped participants to nurture and develop critical thinking and innovation, challenge assumptions, and explore unconventional solutions while embracing intellectual curiosity. We are delighted that the Great HR Debate has been able to set a trend of intellectual inquiry and creativity amongst the fraternity, resulting in continuous organisational improvement and adaptability in the face of change,” said CIPM Sri Lanka President Ken Vijayakumar.
Conceptualised in 2009 by C. Hewapattini FCIPM – one of Sri Lanka’s leading HR professionals, this unique HR debating championship is the only debating championship targeting HR professionals in the corporate sector in Sri Lanka. The Great HR Debate has helped participants adopt a holistic approach to personal and organisational development, embracing knowledge enrichment, oratory skill refinement, teamwork, self-confidence, resilience, and independent thinking. The result is the creation of a culture of growth, innovation, and excellence.
Of the six debates that have been scheduled, two debates have already been concluded and the respective winners have been adjudged by the eminent panel comprising business leaders, HR professionals, and academics. Nestle Lanka and H Connect are the winners of the two debates that have been conducted to date, with 4 more to be held during the run-up to the National HR Conference where the two finalists will vie for the crown jewel.
