CIPM Sri Lanka – the nation’s leader in human resource management – and Sabaragamuwa University Sri Lanka (SUSL) recently signed a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration between CIPM and the university.
The MOU’s overarching objective is to collectively enhance HR education in Sri Lanka and HR practices in Sri Lankan organisations. Similar efforts will assist in transforming working people in Sri Lanka into highly-engaged and committed people and finally increase the performance of business organisations.
At the virtual ceremony held in mid-November, CIPM Sri Lanka President Jayantha Amarasinghe and SUSL Vice Chancellor Professor Udaya Rathnayake signed on CIPM SL and SUSL, respectively. Representing CIPM SL at this event were Vice President Vice Chancellor Professor Udaya Rathnayake, Professional and Academic Affairs Committee Chairman Dr. Neil Bogahalande, CEO U.A.C. Obeyesekere, Professional and Academic Affairs Director G. Weerathunga, members of the Professional and Academic Affairs Committee and CIPM staff.
Present on occasion were members of the Faculty of Management Studies of SUSL including Dean Prof. Athula Gnanapala, Department of Business Management Head Achintha Ekanayake, Department of Marketing Management Head D. Jasinghe, Department of Accountancy and Finance Head Prof. D.G. Dharmarathne and Department of Tourism Management Head Dr. Sarath Munasinghe.
The MoU will promote the mutual understanding between CIPM and SUSL in pursuance of common interests and promote and develop principles, techniques and practices of human resource management to optimise the utilisation of human resources at the national and international levels.
Based on the signed agreement, both institutions agree to develop collaborative programs and activities and extend support when organising such initiatives. Significantly, the partnership ensures acceptance of prior learning recognition and an exemption plan for students from both institutes. Establishing a partnership between the two esteemed institutions offers a mutually-beneficial relationship for both institutions.
The MOU with SUSL came into fruition through CIPM President Jayantha Amarasinghe, SUSL Vice Chancellor Professor Udaya Rathnayake, the Director of Professional and Academic Affairs, members of the Faculty of Management Studies, SUSL and the Chairman and members of the Professional and Academic Affairs Committee.
