The 5th Graduation Ceremony 2023 of Heartwork Academy of Psychological Studies was held on 25 February at the Public Library Auditorium, Colombo 7, attended by a plethora of academics and special guests.
The President of Heartwork Academy Rhumy Amith stated that when he initiated this course way back in 2017 it was his passion to create a breed of skilled and professional counselling psychologists, who will cater to the demanding needs of the nation in handing mental sickness.
The shortage of such counsellors has a big impact on human wellbeing in Sri Lanka.
This graduation ceremony will see such counselling and psychotherapy experts fulfilling this ardent need. The Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy is tailor-made to ideally suit the local and international standards and best practices.
Vraie Cally Balthazaar was the Chief Guest and she elaborated on the great role that women played in building the nation through their dedication at home. University of Kelaniya Centre for Gender Studies Director and Special Guest Professor Anusha Edirisinghe explained the conflicts and confusions on cyber-crime related issues. Dr. Shafraz Saleem delivered a wonderful keynote address explaining what value based economy is and its impact in today’s market economy.
Social Services Excellence Awards were presented to Rizvi Bagoos, Mohamed Haniff, Ifthikar Ahmed Mashood and Hameed Sadik.
The Outstanding Student Awards from different batches were awarded to Hasna Humaizarah Luthufi, Hafeeza Azmi, Shahida Nizam and F.M. Mathloob.
