The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management awarded the Lifetime Gold Medal to Dhammika Fernando at the recently concluded National HR Conference at the Monarch Imperial Battaramulla.
Dhammika Fernando is a highly accomplished management professional with over 36 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. Dhammika is a past president of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) in which position he made excellent contributions to raise the standards of the Human Resource Management discipline.
The CIPM Lifetime Gold Medal is awarded once a year to an individual who has excelled in the ‘Human Resources’ discipline which would be a lasting contribution to CIPM, the country, and the other stakeholders. Dhammika Fernando, a product of the University of Moratuwa, is an MBA holder and a human resource management specialist, currently working as the Director and Local Chief Officer for Tropical Findings Ltd. which is a pioneering Japanese conglomerate operating in the FTZ Katunayake for 45 years. He has been involved with the FTZ Manufacturer’s Association for over two decades in which he is the current Chairman. Dhammika has served in the National Labour Advisory Council formed by the Ministry of Labour and chaired by the Minister of Labour. He is also a member of the National Wages Board for the Apparel Trade.
Dhammika is an old boy from Mari Stella College Negombo, where he excelled in academic studies, sports, and extra-curricular activities. He is happily married with two children whom he treasures dearly. CIPM congratulates Dhammika on his momentous achievement.
