Dilukshika Nilangi Fernando appointed to Arpico Insurance Board

W. Dilukshika Nilangi Fernando has been appointed to the Board of Arpico Insurance Plc as a Non-Executive Independent Director following the approval given by the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka.

Fernando is a multi-qualified chartered insurer with over 13 years of experience in the insurance industry. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (Dip M (UK) ACIM).

She started her career at Ernst & Young as a Management Consultancy Trainee in January 2003. Thereafter she stepped into the insurance industry by joining Union Assurance PLC as a Management Trainee and worked for seven years in the capacity of Assistant Manager, Manager and Senior Manager till 2010.

Her job role was further expanded after joining Allianz Life Insurance Lanka Ltd. as she was heading the entire Life Operations Division for two years. Whilst at the job she was handling inquiries and operational matters with the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka and Insurance Ombudsman. She was also a member of the Compliance and Audit Committee and Executive Committee.

Fernando’s experience in a multinational insurance company paved the way to join another larger multinational insurance company, AIA Insurance PLC, in 2012. She worked in the capacity of Senior

Manager and Head of Operations till 2016. She also functioned as the Specified Officer for AIA Insurance PLC until her retirement.

With the latest appointment the Board of Directors of Arpico Insurance Plc comprises V.P. Perera (Chairman), L. Serasinghe, S. Sirikananthan, S. Gooneratnre and W.D.N. Fernando.
