Dulani Nissanka inducted as President of Cinnamon Gardens Rotary Club

The 37th installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Cinnamon Gardens was held on 24 August at the NH Collections, Colombo where Dulani Nissanka was installed as President. 

The event was graced by Chief Guest District Governor Sushena Ranatunga, Guest of Honour Rtn. Murali Prakash, Past District Governors, Officials of Rotary District 3220, fellow Rotarians, Rotaractors, interactors, friends and family of Rotarians. 

The newly installed President emphasised that: “The impact of our efforts can be seen in the smiles of those we’ve helped, the communities we’ve strengthened, and the legacy we’ve built. But our work is far from over. We will continue to make a sustainable impact through the magic of Rotary and leave a legacy that will stand the test of time.”

In line with the same theme, a charity art exhibition and an auction were also held concurrently, with 100% of the proceeds of the exhibition sales being donated to the Little Hearts Foundation. Rotary For Little Hearts, a mission representing Rotary District 3220 to raise $ 1 Million through Rotary District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives to transform pediatric cardiac care at the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital.

Furthermore, the Rotary Club of Cinnamon Gardens took the initiative to donate $ 10,000 to the Little Hearts Foundation, which was contributed by Ranjini Obeyesekere, beloved mother of Rotarian Dr. Nalinika Obeyesekere an active member of the Cinnamon Gardens family. 

The Rotaract Club of Cinnamon Gardens boasts a strong foundation of 37 years and had become the best club, in addition to winning the Best President award consecutively for three years by making a significant impact to the communities that it works with.
