Great Place to Work Sri Lanka in collaboration with Shiranee Joseph de Saram Foundation and Women Empowered Global will be hosting ‘Harmony’ – an event on Workplace Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity and Belonging, on 22 January at Ramada Colombo, bringing together corporate leaders, HR professionals, and thought leaders to explore effective strategies for promoting diversity, equity, inclusivity, and belonging. The event will focus on three key themes: Embracing differences, fostering belonging, and building an inclusive tomorrow.
It will highlight the value of celebrating diversity, showing how embracing different perspectives strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and enhances problem-solving, ultimately fostering both personal and organisational growth. It will also emphasise on the importance of creating an inclusive workplace where employees feel valued and empowered, encouraging them to bring their best selves to work. An inclusive environment promotes meaningful relationships based on respect and empathy, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Additionally, the event will emphasise the vital role of DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) in shaping a fair and compassionate future, ensuring the well-being of today’s workforce while creating a lasting legacy of equity for future generations.
A range of engaging sessions with renowned speakers, will offer attendees valuable insights on building inclusive environments. The keynote address titled “The Empathy Edge: How Understanding Drives Inclusion,” will be delivered by Collective Leadership Global (UK) Managing Director and Women Empowered Global Founder and CEO Senela Jayasuriya, where she will discuss the critical role of empathy and understanding in cultivating a culture of inclusion. “Harmony isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s the foundation of a thriving organisation. When we prioritise harmony, we create workplaces that are collaborative, successful, and psychologically safe-where people feel empowered to give their best and cultures evolve into a competitive advantage,” quotes Senela Jayasuriya.
A panel discussion will follow, focusing on “Embracing Differences, Fostering Belonging, Inclusive Tomorrow,” where experts will share strategies and experiences in cultivating diversity, equity, and belonging to create an inclusive future.
An interactive round table discussion will also invite attendees to engage and exchange insights on DEIB practices. The event will conclude with a high tea and networking session, providing a unique opportunity for professionals to connect and discuss DEIB initiatives across industries.
Great Place to Work Sri Lanka Director and CEO Kshanika Ratnayaka stated, “At Great Place to Work Sri Lanka, we are dedicated to championing workplace diversity and inclusivity, as we believe true success comes from creating an environment where every individual feels valued and empowered.” The Harmony event is a significant step towards bringing together individuals to explore how embracing differences, fostering belonging, and committing to an inclusive tomorrow can drive innovation, collaboration, and growth.
