In a groundbreaking initiative during Breast Cancer Awareness month, Just In Time Group, across all its companies, made a powerful statement by sponsoring complimentary breast health screenings for all its female employees.
This proactive move underscores the company’s commitment to championing women’s health and empowering its workforce to take essential steps in protecting their well-being.
Female employees aged 40 and above are receiving free mammograms, while those under 40 will receive free breast scans. The screenings, fully funded by the company, were conducted at Durdans Hospital, one of Sri Lanka’s leading healthcare providers. Employees can conveniently schedule their screenings on any day throughout October, providing them the flexibility to prioritise their health without any financial concerns.
Just In Time Group’s initiative highlights the importance of early detection, which is key in successfully combating breast cancer.
Chief Operating Officer Sherene Goonetilleke said: “We believe that taking care of our employees’ health is a core part of our values. By offering these complimentary screenings, we’re empowering our female staff across all our companies to be proactive in safeguarding their health.”
Senior Executive – Human Resources Priyadharshini Puwaneswaran, who participated in the screening, expressed her gratitude: “It’s wonderful to work for a company that genuinely cares about our health. The screening was simple, and I feel more confident knowing I’ve taken a step to protect myself.”
Assistant Accountant Nirasha Jayawardana shared a similar sentiment: “This initiative makes me feel valued as an employee. Knowing the company is invested in our well-being through practical support like this means a lot. It was an easy process, and I’m thankful for this opportunity.”
Throughout October, the company has also been actively conducting several other activities to build awareness about breast cancer, including educational workshops, awareness sessions, and sharing resources with employees on the importance of early detection and self-examination.
This forward-thinking effort reflects the company’s dedication to fostering a supportive, health-conscious workplace. In a country where breast cancer continues to be a leading health concern, Just In Time Group’s initiative sets a strong example of corporate responsibility, showing how businesses can take an active role in addressing critical health issues that affect their employees.
With 28 years of leadership in the ICT industry, Just In Time Group continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation, not only in the services it provides but also in how it cares for its people. This initiative further reinforces the company’s belief that true success is achieved by creating a lasting, positive impact on the lives of its employees.
As Just In Time Group continues this proactive approach throughout October, it proves that leadership goes beyond business—it’s about making meaningful contributions to the health and well-being of those who drive the company forward.
