Lankan appointed to Boards of Int. Climate Complexity Institute and Int. World Peace Institute

Dr. Nalin Jayasuriya, Chairman of the McQuireRens Group of Companies has been appointed as Director to the Boards of International Climate Complexity Institute and International World Peace Institute, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The goals of the International Climate Complexity Institute and International World Peace Institute (ICCI and IWPI) are to save the world from the disasters of climate change and war. Preventing the world from the possible disaster of climate change and creating worldwide peace is a very complex societal issue. ICCI and IWPI have the opinion that a significant impact can be made through International Conferences on these areas thereby, creating a meaningful awareness and gain commitment to establish respect for inclusion and diversity. The Euro Operational Research Conference organised by ICCI and IWPI is scheduled to be held in July 2018 in Valencia, Spain.

Membership in ICCI and IWPI consists of scientific researchers working at universities and institutes on the fields of Climate Change, Prevention of War and Societal Complexity.

Dr. Nalin Jayasuriya was the former Regional HR Director for Sterling Winthrop, East Africa Region and was headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya (1992/93). Thereafter, he was the Regional HR Consultant and Regional Head of HR Special Projects for Smithkline Beecham International, Southeast Asia & India (a Fortune 500 Company) and was functioning from the Regional Office in Singapore and office in Jakarta Indonesia (1995 to 1999). Smithkline Beecham now goes as Glaxo SmithKline (GSK).

He has led consultancy assignments for Airport and Aviation Services, Ceylon Electricity Board, Sri Lankan Airlines, Sri Lanka Tourist Promotion Bureau (under the Ministry of Tourism). He was also a core consultant in 

setting up the Public Utilities Services Commission of Sri Lanka (the first multi-sector Regulatory Agency in Asia). He has carried out Management Training and Consulting assignments for MNCs, Blue-Chip companies and other profit and non-profit organisations in Sri Lanka and overseas.

Dr. Jayasuriya has addressed International Conferences in the U.K., Belgium, Poland, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, India, Bangladesh, UAE and Kenya.

He received special commendation from the United Nations Head Office in New York for his record speed in restructuring and re-profiling the UNDP in 2001.
