The annual long standing service and the award ceremony of the MMBL Pathfinder Group 2018 was held at the River point of the Group Headquarters in Peliyagoda on Tuesday (8 May). Best division and the best employees were selected based on 5s implemented skills.
Sisira Kumara and Janaka Dissanayake from Maintenance Division, was presented with the best employee joint winners in the best implementer individual category and Media and Public Relations Division won the best ever implementation Division of the Group by the Chief Guest of the occasion, Chairman Milinda Moragoda. “It’s a great honour to win the overall best 5s implemented division for the second consecutive year,” announced the media section after the award ceremony.
Group Director and CEO K. Balasundaram expressed the following views: “This ceremony was International 5s work system introduced by Chairman Milinda Moragoda to increase quality and productivity of the office. Group won the 5 S Merit Award for the year 2015, at the Taiki Akimoto 5S Awards Competition for successfully implementing the internationally accepted quality standards. We recognise and encourage each and every one of our team who are the one family and soul of our organisation. Today is really your day. We have a dynamic team to run it.”
MMBL Pathfinder Group Director Dharmin Perera presented awards for the Individual Best Implementer – Second Runner up – Sumudu Ruwan and Best Implementer – First Runner up – Upul Niroshan Perera. MMBL Pathfinder Group Chairman Bernard Goonetilleke presented awards for Best Implementation Division – Second Runner up – Legal and Management Services Division and Best Implementation Division – First Runner up – Finance Division. Lal Fonseka presented the token of appreciation to last year’s 5S Coordinator to Mahinda Silva.
10 years of service award also goes to Manager-Maintenance Aravinda Sanjeewa, IT Executive Upul Niroshan Perera, Security Officer P.S.J. Wijesekara and Security Officer B.D.L.C. Jayamanna presented by MMBL Group Director M.D.D. Peiris and Group Director R.N. Asiriwadam. The award for 20 years of service, Director, Media and Public Relations Gamini Sarath Godakanda was awarded by MMBL Pathfinder Group Director Jennifer Moragoda. The final set of awards for 30 years of service of Administration Coordinator L. Lalith and Executive Company Secretary Tashrifa Feroz was presented by MMBL Pathfinder group President Y.N. Perera.
