Mandhree appointed Assistant State Commissioner for Girl Guides Victoria

Mandhree Ekanayake

Mandhree Ekanayake, Sri Lankan national living in Australia, has been appointed Assistant State Commissioner for Girl Guides Victoria. 

Mandhree was a dedicated member of the Shepparton Girl Guides Unit for eight years, continuing her commitment whilst in secondary school. Mandhree earned her Queen’s Guide Awards – the peak achievement award in Guiding – during her final year of secondary school while also representing Goulburn Valley Grammar School as School Captain. 

Mandhree is one of four State Team members who commenced their appointment on 1 February, and at 20, she is the youngest person to serve on the team. She is also the first culturally diverse individual to ever be appointed into the State Team. 

In addition to her new appointment, Mandhree has completed an undergraduate in Biomedical Science at Monash University and is continuing her postgraduate studies at Melbourne University, studying a Doctor of Medicine.
