Order of the Rising Sun from Japan to Das Wijeratne and Frederick Medis

Ambassador of Japan in Sri Lanka Kenichi Suganuma conferred the Order of the Rising Sun, 3rd Class (Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon) upon Das Wijeratne and Frederick Medis, on behalf of His Imperial Majesty the Emperor of Japan, at a special ceremony held on 18 January at the Ambassador’s residence in Colombo.

Sri Lanka-Japan Business Co-operation Committee past President Das Wijeratne was rewarded in recognition of his significant contribution to strengthening economic relations between Japan and Sri Lanka. Lanka-Japan Friendship Society past President Frederick Medis was rewarded in recognition of his significant contribution to the promotion of Japanese Culture and understanding of Japan in Sri Lanka.
