In keeping with its mission of offering affordable and high quality education opportunities, Horizon now offers in partnership with Arkansas State University, USA, the opportunity for students to commence the Bsc in Biotechnology degree at Horizon, with the opportunity to complete the degree in the United States, for students who wish to qualify with a prestigious American degree, to their name. 

Arkansas State University is one of the government funded universities in the United States, which has a rich history of over 110 years of existence. The AState University currently boasts over 14,000 students enrolled in Campus and over 150 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs offered on a campus premises sprawling over 1,300 acres. It has a strong alumni of over 80,000 students worldwide, with international students representing over 20% of its current student population, where South and East Asian students are the majority of the same. 

All degree programs offered are fully accredited by the respective governing bodies, which would represent the quality guarantees necessary for any prospective student. The significance of the cost factor is emphasised by the fact that the tuition fees offered through Horizon Campus corresponds to a total reduction of up to approximately 50% of the cost that would be incurred, if one was to study for a similar degree in the United States for a four-year period. This they believe emphasises the vision and mission of both Arkansas State University and Horizon Campus, in offering affordable opportunities for students who wish to study for the degree of their choice.

Students will commence their degree program at Horizon campus for the first two years and provided they successfully maintain the expected GPA averages for the two-year period, will be provided a credit transfer by Astate to complete the final two years of the degree in the US. Furthermore, students who fulfil the set guidelines for academic achievement will also be eligible for a $ 3,000 scholarship awarded by the University, per year. This is an added advantage for students who wish to read for a highly recognised US degree program. Furthermore, students who wish to read for a Medicine degree in the US, could complete the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) once they complete the Biotechnology, which will provide them with the opportunity to read for a MD degree in either the United States or Canada.
