ACECAM Ltd is a leading engineering software solution provider operating for the last nine years. ACECAM is providing world class design, manufacturing and simulation software solutions to the Sri Lankan context and has built relationships with a clientele in both academic and commercial streams including renowned corporates in Sri Lanka. The engineering team from ACECAM spent a full day with interested students of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya on 5 July to share knowledge and industry exposure, that help students to gain more understanding on mechanical CAD, integrated mechanical-electrical design, simulation and best-in-class manufacturing solutions. The session was intended to help students gain access to some of the latest advancements of the 3D CAD, simulation and latest technology in machining techniques. This exposure help students to be prepared to make a difference in today’s world where success depends on innovative ideas and technology. The event was organised by the IESL Student Chapter, University of Peradeniya under the guidance of Director Industrial Training & Career Guidance Unit of the faculty Eng W.R.M.U. Wickramasinghe. Students from Mechanical, Electrical and Production engineering disciplines of the faculty took part at the session. Presentations were made under the titles of ‘Faster Machine Designing and Modification’, ‘Plant Designing & Manufacturing Solutions’ by Eng. Ruwan Manchanayake and on ‘Integrated Electrical Design’ and ‘3D Virtual Testing for Product and Process Simulation’ by Eng. Chaminda Manchanayake from ACECAM Ltd. Students have showed much enthusiasm towards machine designing and simulation. Also they were interested in further training of Dassault Systemes, SolidWorks conduct by their value added re-seller in Sri Lanka, ACECAM Ltd. Students requested from ACECAM to support for Technological Competitions that they participate in.
