A leading global telecommunications company Bharti Airtel with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa recently announced its partnership with AIESEC Sri Lanka, to facilitate the core project for the year 2013 The Youth Empowerment Project (YEP 2.0).
This program, which was held at 10 institutions including SLIIT, IIT, ANC, APIIT, National Youth Services Council, BCAS, Western College for Management and Technology, Technical College Maradana, Technical College Ratmalana and Ceylon German Technical Institute had over 1,000 students participating and gaining valuable insights into being future leaders.
These sessions were conducted by 50 foreign undergraduates from different countries, who shared their experiences with the local students, thus creating awareness and providing insights on an international scale.
The project also included a ‘leadership day’ where knowledge sharing sessions took place amongst students representing all the above said institutions.

The YEP 2.0 focused on educating the participants on enhancing skills, broadening knowledge and exposing them to the corporate environment which would build confidence and enable the youth of tomorrow to become better leaders.

AIESEC acts as an agent that links the corporate world and university students and provides leadership opportunities for youth. YEP 2.0 is an initiative that focuses on undergraduates. YEP 2.0 offers undergraduates the opportunities to develop their soft skills, personality building opportunities, leadership skills which will prepare them to face the challenges of the future better.
