The members of the Sri Lanka Association of Administrative and Professional Secretaries (SLAAPS) will be representing Sri Lanka at the Asian Secretaries Association (ASA) 23rd Congress in Manila, Philippines. It will be held on 25 to 29 September. The theme of the 23rd Congress is “Today’s Vision Tomorrow’s Reality”.

The Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals in Asia-Pacific (ASA) was founded in the year 1974 in Manila, Philippines and today it has 14 member countries. SLAAPS became a member of the ASA in the year 1990 at the 9th Congress held in Pakistan. The Congress is held once in two years, hosted on a rotation basis and Sri Lanka had the honour of hosting the 14th Congress in the year 2000.
The vision of the ASA is to be recognised as the apex body for Secretarial and Administrative Professional Associations in Asia Pacific and the mission is to promote friendship, understanding and exchange ideas and experiences among the Secretarial and Administrative Professional Associations in Asia Pacific.
This is the first time in the history of SLAAPS that it was represented by 40 members at the ASA Congress.
