The 7th Annual International Networking Week, which aims at creating dialogue amongst business people and providing a platform for business growth through education on networking and referral marketing techniques, will be commemorated in Sri Lanka for the second time on 12 February from 5:00 p.m. onwards at the Ramada Colombo. The event is being organised by Business Network International Sri Lanka, which is part of the largest business networking organisation in the world. The agenda includes insightful presentations by eminent personalities Ravi Jayewardene and Rohan Jayaweera, who are celebrated speakers across the globe on the topics under discussion. Jayewardene is the only Sri Lankan in the Glendenning consultancy panel in the UK and has conducted training programs in Singapore, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh and Australia. He is the current CEO of Maliban Biscuits Ltd. with an illustrious career with many multinationals in the country. Jayewardene will speak on networking and how to be a better networker while Jayaweera will discuss the benefits of referral marketing and how to get others to endorse your business. Jayaweera is the COO of Micro Image Mobile Media and has a passion for coaching start-ups and entrepreneurs. He is the first employee of Google for Sri Lanka with a deep understanding on channel/partner and eco system business development. With over 175,000 members worldwide, BNI last year alone generated 5.4 million referrals worldwide, resulting in $ 6.5 billion worth of business for its members. Members are offered the opportunity to share ideas, contacts and most importantly, business referrals. This is an ideal networking space for those businesses that rely heavily on referral marketing, especially entrepreneurs who want to expand their horizons. “The uniqueness of the group is that only one member can represent a specific field, which leaves no room for competition within one chapter. Members also gain access to BNI Connect –an online portal where all BNI members worldwide are connected to find suppliers and business partners globally and showcase business offerings available to members from across the world, ” said the National Director of BNI Sri Lanka, Marjan Manzil.
