Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural Corporate Directors Program jointly conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the program has made a quick comeback with a second intake kicking off recently.
The inaugural program which was a sell-out, had to be repeated to accommodate a larger number of directors who had expressed their interest to participate in the program but was unable to be accommodated due to the limited number of seating.
The Corporate Directors Program is a joint initiative by CA Sri Lanka and SEC to provide a platform for directors to strengthen their understanding of the relevant laws and regulations, performance and conformance governance, corporate social responsibilities and financial and integrated reporting.
The program which will be conducted over ten sessions will feature a combination of lectures, panel discussions and work group sessions featuring well known experts including representatives from the corporate community, regulatory agencies, corporate lawyers, financial analysts, auditors and assurance providers.
The Corporate Directors Program is a unique opportunity for directors to be informed and be compliant in a continuously changing and challenging governance environment. The program is open for executive and non-executive directors of public listed companies, directors of state owned enterprises, shareholder directors of family owned companies and senior professionals aspiring to be directors.
