Cash bond to travel to UK

The British Government has said that they will charge a deposit of UK Pounds 3,000 from each Sri Lankan who is going to UK from November onwards.  This must be looked upon as a “blessing in disguise” and all Sri Lankans must use this wonderful opportunity to now adopt a “Look East” policy and try to do business, go for holidays, obtain training, send kids for tertiary education, etc. in the fast emerging East.  Newspaper reports indicate that about 14,000 Sri Lankans travel to UK every year and about 25,000 Sri Lankans study in the UK at any given time.  So, with a new approach by Sri Lankans to shun the UK, if the number going to UK could be halved by next year, I think that would be an excellent result for Sri Lanka.
