The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce recently signed an MOU with the Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni (PIMA) to support the educational institute’s inaugural PIMA-Olympics: The National Management Awards, which is held in order to recognise and reward the achievements of professional business leaders who are serving within Sri Lanka and the Middle East.
Accordingly, the MOU was signed between the two parties at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the PIMA at the CCC premises.
Under the MOU, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will provide assistance to the PIMA-Olympics such as promoting the event among Chamber member companies and among the members of the CCC-led Young Members Forum.
The Chamber will also help PIMA in compiling the judging panel of the competition and also allow PIMA to use the CCC logo on all propaganda material of the competition, etc.
Accordingly, CCC Deputy Chairman Rajendra Theagerajah and Vish Govindasamy, a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, sit on the PIMA Olympics judging panel, among several other distinguished corporate executives from the country.
PIMA Olympics is expected to offer 12 categories of awards, with the topmost award being the PIMA Diamond Shield for Lifetime Achievement. The other categories include titles such as the Most Outstanding Business Manager of the Year, PIMA – CCC Diamond Service Award for Most Outstanding Expatriate Business Manager of the Year, Best Manager in Global Market Reach, Outstanding Female Business Leader of the year, Best Under 40 Managers of the Year and Best Under 30 Manager of the Year, etc.
