CIM Sri Lanka Region to host annual HR and marketing forum

The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region is scheduled to host the CIM HR and Marketing Forum on 9 October 2013 at the Earls Court, Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo. This annual event will bring together top corporate executives in the human resources and marketing spectrums.
The objective of the forum is to outline the core values and benefits of the CIM qualification to human resource and marketing professionals of both private and public sectors to understand the importance of the CIM qualification and how it will be benchmarked for recruiting marketing and sales professionals in Sri Lanka.
The forum will also demonstrate how those who are presently qualified in CIM as professional marketers turnaround businesses and are recognised as the driving force behind prominent key organisations.
Chartered Institute of Marketing UK Head of International Relations Ian Marshall and Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd. Marketing Director Asanga Ranasinghe will be key speakers whilst, The Knowledge Factory Founder/Principal Lecturer Failan Saleem, Nestle Lanka PLC Managing Director Ganesan Ampalavanar, Pan Audio Ltd. Marketing Director and Senior Lecturer at the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing G.S. Sylvester, Amana Takaful Life General Manager/Chief Executive Officer and Senior Lecturer at NEXT Campus Reyaz Jeffrey and Head Channels, NDB Bank Retail/SME Business, faculty member at Strategy College and founder of WrooM Development Yasas Hewage will be the panellists on board.
Chairperson of The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region Nadi Dharmasiri said: “Previously the target audience of the forum was only HR and this year we have combined HR and marketing, as we believe that it is important that both sectors are represented as our objective of this forum is for HR and marketing professionals to understand how the CIM qualification could enhance the competencies of their employees which will in return benefit their organisations.” Dharmasiri added: “This year’s forum brings together eminent professionals as key speakers and an esteemed panel to share their insights on how CIM as a qualification could benefit an organisation. The forum will certainly be very informative and insightful.”
The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region Head of Education Amal Fernando said: “Prior to the HR and Marketing forum, CIM Sri Lanka Region will host a tutor workshop on the same day and will be presented by CIM UK Head of International Relations Ian Marshall.” Fernando added: “CIM has invited top corporate executives representing the HR and marketing sectors to attend this event. The forum will conclude with a fellowship dinner hosted by CIM Sri Lanka Region.”
