CIMA Sri Lanka in collaboration with SriLankan Training is holding a half- day workshop on business etiquette titled ‘Power Women’ to coincide with International Women’s Day.
Etiquette can be the difference between success and failure. ‘Success in getting, keeping and advancing in a job depends 85% on soft skills, and 15% on technical knowledge and skills’ – according to three separate research projects by Harvard University, the Carnegie Foundation, and the Stanford Research Institute.
Research also shows that 55% of the first impression we make on others is based on our appearance, 38% based on our presentation/body language and only 7% on what we say the first time we meet someone. Here is an opportunity to learn how to make the most and dress for your goals, social skills necessary to help you project confidence and make a great first and lasting impression.
Joanne Jayamaha, Senior Executive Trainer, Counsellor, Facilitator at SriLankan Airlines will lead this workshop. She is an internal trainer for Inflight Service Delivery - Cabin Crew. She has national and international exposure with Sri Lankan Airlines and Qatar Airways.

Content of the workshop includes the professional you – first impression, dress codes, dressing for success, grooming, hair/body, punctuality; social etiquette – greetings, hand shake, introduction, exchanging business cards, networking, small talk, walking and entering, sitting and standing, phones and cell phones, lasting impressions; general manners – etiquette at work, meetings, entertaining customers, addressing individuals, behaviour outside workplace, office parties; dinning etiquette and business cocktails.
