CIMA Convocation 2014 today

The CIMA bi-annual convocation will be held today at 5 p.m. at the BMICH on the theme ‘Featuring globally competent business leaders’. University of Sri Jayewardenepura Vice Chancellor Dr. N.L.A. Karunaratne will be the Chief Guest. This esteemed event will recognise 436 graduates who completed their examinations in March and May 2014. CIMA will also recognise 18 national prize winners at the convocation. 30 members will receive the honorary title Fellow member and another 153 exam complete students will be recognised as Associate members. Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development conducts seminars and workshops and tailor made programs for the corporate world in matters connected with human resources/human resources development. These programs were well-received in the arena of human resources and continue to draw the attention of training professionals and future trainers. Another batch of Royal Oman Navy Officers was in the country to follow a course on ‘Human Resource Management’ conducted by Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development. This batch has successfully completed the training program and left the country with full satisfaction about the course with the promise that more officers will follow them and select Sri Lanka for their training courses. This clearly illustrates that foreigners involved in training are now looking Sri Lanka for their knowledge searching journeys. Some more training programs for foreign participants are in the lineup during this year. All of these sessions were conducted by the leading training and development professionals in Sri Lanka. SLITAD was founded in 1998 by a group of HRD professionals led by late Achilles Joseph, former DIG and Director Higher Training Institute of the Sri Lanka Police. Since 1998, SLITAD has been actively involved in carrying out its mission and now is evolved to a well-established organisation dedicated to uplift the professional standards of human resources development with more than 200 members. SLITAD has made significant contribution towards the HRD profession of the country by producing more than 200 full-fledged trainers by its diploma course in training and development. Apart from the academic courses SLITAD also conducts seminars/workshops and tailor made programs for organisations in HR/HRD related matters.
