The IFRS convergence has necessitated that many Sri Lankan businesses take a closer look at their financial reporting. In order to equip businesses to meet the challenge of the changes to standards being implemented in 2014, CIMA Sri Lanka will hold a discussion forum at 5:30 p.m. on 6 December 2014 at the CIMA auditorium.
This discussion forum will take a practical approach to understanding the new requirements of SLFRS 10 (consolidated financial statements), 11 (joint arrangements) and 12 (disclosure of interests in other entities), preparing businesses for their adoption in January.
The interactive forum will cover applying new control models in practice, and accounting for the substance of an arrangement, as well as applying principles for complex structures and joint arrangements.
It will detail disclosure requirements and challenges, considerations when entering into contracts and agreements and tackle key issues in current contracts/contractual arrangements that impact a company’s accounting decisions from the point of view of the business.
It will be facilitated by Anoji De Silva and Manil Jayesinghe, Partners at Ernst & Young - Sri Lanka, who will use their expertise to present the facts and practical examples in a comprehensible, easy-to-apply format.
For more information on how to participate in this discussion forum, please contact Jennifer/Dinasha on 2503880 ext 263/222 or email [email protected].
