The Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) Sri Lanka has initiated a program to ensure that all its students receive quality practical training in leading business entities in the country. Three years of practical training is mandatory for those who pass all four levels of CMA and the Integrative Case Study, to become a ‘Member of CMA Sri Lanka’. CMA provides a flexible training policy with practical training undertaken either while sitting the exams or after completion of exams.
CMA recently entered into two new Training Partnership agreements (TPA) with reputed companies in the Sri Lankan business sphere. One is Union Assurance General Ltd. backed by the Fairfax Group – a diversified, financial services company worth $ 8.6 billion as at 2015 (Q2), with a strong foothold in the growing insurance and reinsurance markets of Southeast Asia, USA, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, UK and Brazil. Fairfax is founded on a series of core values which embrace honesty, integrity and result oriented hard work with a firm focus on making work more rewarding and fun.

CMA was incorporated by Act of Parliament No. 23 of 2009. CMA has the memberships of international accounting bodies such as South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
CMA, already has over more than 120 training partnership agreements with public and private sector organizations and the new agreements will further enhance the opportunities for CMA students to complete their practical training requirement.

Therefore, the companies with impeccable track records that employ professionally qualified personnel, in the accounting field in specific and in every field in general are selected as accredited training partners.
