CMA Sri Lanka signs MoU with BPO Connect as accredited practical training partner

BPO Connect, an Australian owned and operated company providing finance and accounting related services such as cloud-based book keeping, tax services and end-to-end accounting and financial reporting services through its teams in Australia, Sri Lanka, India, China and Vietnam, recently signed an MoU with the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA), the national professional management accounting institution in Sri Lanka. This agreement will provide CMA students an opportunity to obtain practical training in management accounting and financial accounting with international exposure prior to obtaining their associate membership ACMA. The CMA practical experience component is an essential part of the CMA program and has been developed in accordance with the International Standards of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the world body for professional accountants operating to meet the growing demands of competitive organisations at both national and international levels. IFAC is comprised of 172 members and associates in 129 countries and jurisdictions, representing approximately 2.5 million accountants in public practice, education, government service, industry and commerce. The MoU was signed by CMA President Professor Lakshman R. Watawala and BPO Connect Managing Director Arjuna Samarakoon. Also present were L.B. Wattegedara, Executive Director – CMA, Shyamali Kirinde, Manager Transitions – BPO Connect and Hasantha Sooriyaarachchi, Global HR Manager – BPO Connect
