accomplished Toastmaster and prominent business leader was appointed the 30th President of the premier Toastmasters Club in South East Asia, marking yet another milestone in the club’s history. The event was held in gala style in the presence of officials from the Toastmasters District, distinguished past presidents, Executive Committee members and members of the Colombo Toastmasters Club. The Colombo Toastmasters Club, under the patronage of its parent organisation, Toastmasters International has been the catalyst in the propagation and development of many Toastmasters Clubs in Sri Lanka and the South East Asia region, empowering its members to be effective communicators and leaders. The club has produced world champions in public speaking and individuals who have risen to the ranks of International Directors of the Toastmasters International board. The flagship programs such as the All Island Best Speaker contest, the Champion Junior Speaker contest and the Speech Craft programs have paved the way for a number of individuals to be world class communicators and effective leaders. The club won the prestigious Golden Gavel Award from the Toastmasters International during the year 2012-2013, for its outstanding achievements and world-class performance by its members. The Club meetings are held on every second and fourth Tuesday at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo.
