Colombo Uni. inaugurates postgraduate and extension programs in Economics 2015

The Department of Economics, University of Colombo has scheduled to inaugurate all its postgraduate and extension programs of 2015 on Saturday, 7 March at 10 a.m. at the New Arts Theatre (NAT) of the University, announced Head of the Department, Professor Ven. W. Wimalaratana. A special lecture on ‘Fall of the West and Rise of Asia: Where is Sri Lanka?’ will be delivered by Sirimal Abeyratne, Professor of Economics of Colombo University.
Currently, the Department of Economics offers a PhD and MPhil degree program in Economics, three Masters Degree programs in Economics, Financial Economics, and Tourism, and two Postgraduate Diplomas in Economic Development, and Tourism and Hotel Management, and three Diplomas in Business and Financial Economics, Travel and Tourism Economics, and Micro Finance. For the academic year 2015, over 450 students have received admission to these postgraduate and extensions programs.
