“Dr. Sunil Erevelles is one of the strongest global presenters with ground breaking thought leadership supported by real-life case studies and research that keeps the audience spellbound and entertained from beginning to end. He must be listened to.”
These were the words of the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors Pravir Samarasinghe, after a spellbinding two hour evening presentation and discussion on ‘The Future of Business: Ground Breaking Research, Trends and Opportunities’ organised by the Institute of Directors in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants on 18 June 2013 at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel.
According to Graham Marshall of CIC: “Dr. Erevelles made a passionate and convincing presentation which kept the audience spellbound. The basis of his conclusions based on demographics and its impact on the fundamentals of economics and business was indeed a change and added a new dimension to me in my role in strategic planning. The content was great and the speaker was brilliant.”
Executives make poor business decisions because most do not have a very clear vision of the future in the new global economy. In his eye-opening presentation, Dr. Erevelles presented ground-breaking research that showed the packed audience how to precisely and accurately “look around corners” and “see beyond the horizon”; to foresee economic and market events months, years and decades before they occur and thus manage the future for their organisation. In doing so, he showed them how they can precisely predict the future of consumer markets, the stock market and the real estate market months, years and decades in advance. He showed the participants how to profit from the biggest economic opportunities and downturns in the future. Most importantly, he brilliantly explained how and when organisations should protect themselves from the ravages of major economic changes.
After a seven year absence from Sri Lanka, one of the world’s most powerful speakers, University of North Carolina Professor Dr. Sunil Erevelles, returned to Colombo to address the Institute of Directors and lead an all day workshop for the management of a leading company in Sri Lanka on their future. He also led a two hour discussion on “Game Changing Strategies in Retail Banking” for Nations Trust Bank attended by the CEO, senior management and invited staff. In 2006, President’s Counsel and a leading Corporate Lawyer in Sri Lanka Dr. Harsha Cabral, who serves on the boards of Hayley’s, Tokyo Cement and other companies, had this to say: “Dr. Erevelles is a management guru par excellence who looks at the 21st century knowledge and technology based society in a positive manner with innovative thinking. He demolishes the traditional methods of management and provides new innovative solutions to boards and senior management. Business and Government leaders in Sri Lanka must listen to him.” Again in 2006, Brandix Group Finance Director and Board Member Trevine Jayasekera FCA, FCMA said: “Dr. Erevelles’ presentation has got the class, quality and substance you’re looking for. The delivery is outstanding”.
