Fashion Bug uplifts supply chain, signs up ISMM Sri Lanka

In pursuit of fostering knowledge and continuously upgrade its supply chain process with the aim of transforming to a more shopper-centric retail fashion chain, Fashion Bug recently joined hands with the country’s leading specialised institution, Institute of Supply & Materials Management (ISMM) Sri Lanka.
With supply chain management increasingly becoming both logistically and technologically complicated in this competitive and consumer-oriented environment, the retail fashion chain seeks to upgrade their knowledge, skills and performance with the Institute’s seminars and workshops that’s been carried out regularly to familiarise members with the latest developments.
Dr. Faraaz Hameed, AGM Retail Operations and Sales, Fashion Bug stated that the company is initiating strategic links with leading professional bodies to help employees with new management skills and techniques. “We are delighted to have ISMM Sri Lanka onboard and with its continuous interaction, we hope to see a whole new upgrade of our talent and skills to better serve our shopaholics.”

The mutual agreement was signed on 7 September for the Professional Development Program in the presence of ISMM Sri Lanka President Anil Ponweera, Director Training Dr. Kingsley Wickremasuriya, Course Director B.G. Ariyadasa, including Dr. Faraaz Hameed and Namal Ekanayake from Fashion Bug.
“Our faculty consists of senior experienced consultants and experts attached to renowned universities, public and private sector institutions and organisations. Combining our expertise and successful case studies including turnarounds, we look forward for a healthy result-oriented journey with Fashion Bug,” commented Ariyadasa.
Established back in 1972 with the mission quoting ‘to create world class professionals through continuous upgrading of the skill, knowledge and attitudes and be the forum for the interaction of professionals in the field of logistics and supply chain management,’ the institute today consists of a total of 778 professionals from various private and public institutions.
ISMM Sri Lanka is affiliated to International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM), National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM), USA, and Association of Management Development Institutes of South Asia (AMDISA), including Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) and Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
