Global recognition for ESOFT DITEC IT Diploma

Signs MOU with EDEXCEL International, UK

ESOFT Computer Studies (Pvt) Ltd., one of the foremost higher education institutions in Sri Lanka conducting educational programmes in information technology, business management and English language, has been successful in its efforts to give global recognition to its DITEC Information Technology Diploma Programme, which it has been conducting for the past eight years, by taking it to the highest level of quality.

Accordingly, students who successfully complete the DITEC Information Technology Diploma Programme will be awarded a certificate issued by EDEXCEL International of the United Kingdom, in addition to the certificate issued by the ESOFT Computer Studies (Pvt) Ltd. To this effect, EDEXCEL International of the United Kingdom and the ESOFT Computer Studies (Pvt) Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) recently.

ESOFT has built up a name for itself as a provider of the much-sought-after Diploma in Information Technology (DITEC) which is very popular with the school leavers after completing their advanced level examinations. Each year, ESOFT enroll approx 12,000 students in two intakes and teach them theoretically as well as practically, all areas that a beginner must learn.

These areas include history of computing, operating systems, specific applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, graphic designing and animation, web designing, software engineering and programming, amongst other things.

DITEC can be completed in four to six months depending on the class timing, and is available either as a full time (weekday) or part-time (weekend) option. The student covers 10 modules plus a practical project, whereby the practical skills are demonstrated and tested.

The ESOFT Education Institute will be awarding two certificated with local and global acceptance to students who successfully complete the DITEC Information Technology Diploma Course. One certificate is issued by the EDEXEL International institution of the United Kingdom and the other certificate is issued by the ESOFT Education Institute.

Another special feature of the DITEC Information Technology Diploma Course is that the students who have successfully completed the DITEC Information Technology Diploma Course will be exempted from two subjects in following the Information Technology Higher Education Course conducted by the British Computer Society (BCS) of the United Kingdom.

ESOFT Computer Studies (Pvt) Ltd. Technology is currently in the process of recruiting new students for this diploma programme and students who have sat for the recently concluded G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination can also register for the DIETEC Information Technology Diploma.

The post-A/L students will be able to get the knowledge of information technology that is becoming increasingly essential for the future, and the necessary English language knowledge can be obtained by joining the ESOFT English Language Diploma Programme.

As the DITEC Information Technology Diploma Programme and the ESOFT English Language Diploma Programme are conducted parallel to each other, post-A/L students can spend the time till they get the results of the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination fruitfully, by enrolling in these two diploma programmes.
